Palais Schaumburg

Palais Schaumburg was a new wave band from Hamburg, Germany. The style was classified as Neue Deutsche Welle, and strongly characterized by their avant garde music and dadaistic attitude. Shortly after their debut album was released, Holger Hiller and FM Einheit left the band. Hiller started his solo career and Einheit joined Einstürzende Neubauten. Einheit (playing Pandora’s 85 with Einsturzende Neubauten) was a founding member of Palais Schaumburg.

Palais Schaumburg's show at Pandora's was marred by technical difficulties leading Hertwig to conclude that the show was "anti-publicity for our tour through the Netherlands in two weeks" (Vrije Volk review, 24-09-1984)
